Open House
One thousand caterers, floral designers, event venue representatives and corporate, social, and non-profit event planners attended the Classic Party Rentals Open House on Tuesday March 10 at the company’s location in Burlingame. Guests were escorted from their cars by Precision Parking Valet, and then welcomed by the Classic management team as they passed through whimsically striped canvas entry tents.
As they entered the event, guests were delighted by Nocturnal Sunshine’s Stilt Walkers and entertained by Wine Country Music and mandolin and acoustic guitar players from Heartstrings Music, L.L.C. Servers from The Party Staff greeted everyone with the evening’s signature cocktail, “Classic Crush 2.0”.
The event, themed “Imagine the Possibilities,” displayed Classic’s limitless capabilities for special event partnership. Linens, chairs, and tabletop products were displayed in vignettes throughout the showroom and warehouse. Chandeliers and lanterns, creatively-lit fabric features in the ceilings, and beautiful pipe and drape transformed the company’s working warehouse into a beautiful event venue.
The guest pathway through the warehouse ended at the main tent where the full moon overlooked the festivities through the cleartop, clearspan structure. The event space featured an upper-level terrace for cocktail seating, dramatically draped in silver metallic Mylar. The lower level of the tent offered a central bar of contemporary brushed stainless steel, manned by Best Beverage Catering. Tent décor was edgy yet colorful – walls were draped in curry-colored fabric, while the clear ceiling was treated with a striking weave of fabric in shades of pewter, loden green and cardinal red. Two-tone carpeting carried out the curry and pewter color scheme. A coordinating stainless steel dance floor allowed guests to enjoy the dance music spun Denon and Doyle DJs.
The success of the event was the result of a team effort by Classic and many of its client partners. Over forty Bay Area floral designers contributed their talents by designing centerpieces to enhance the tabletops, buffets, and bars. Food stations presented by seven of the Bay Area’s premier catering companies provided both savory and sweet morsels for guests. Union Street Catering served Tandoori Scallops with fruit studded couscous. In the area devoted to Classic’s Napa Valley aesthetic, Melissa Teaff Catering offered Wine Snaps with Gorgonzola cream & candied pecans. Piper Johnson Catering presented Duck Confit with a cabernet reduction glaze, while fresh Organic Beef Sliders with cheddar, baby arugula and caramelized onion tomato aioli were served hot off the barbeque by Hugh Groman Catering. Wine Valley Catering presented Creamy Dungeness Crab Bisque in shot glasses. For desserts, Catered Too created a whimsical “Lollipop Garden” of sweets hand-dipped in chocolate and covered in sprinkles. Componere Fine Catering served made to order Ice Cream with Liquid Nitrogen in three flavors.
Throughout the event guests enjoyed wines from winery partners Andretti Winery, Benziger Family Winery, Del Dotto Vineyards, Flora Springs Winery, Jessup Cellars, Ledson Winery, Mumm Napa, and Viansa Winery.
As the sun set and the dance floor filled, Classic’s lighting team shifted into party mode with moving lights in dramatic colors. As one client exclaimed the following day, the Classic Open House truly set the industry standard for special event professionals.
